What our nurses say
"Greetings from Shrewsbury !
So far so good. This city is beautiful and people are really friendly and helpful. I still haven't truly realized that this is really my home now. I have inductions all week and next week I'll go on the ward. So far it seems really different than in Finland, but I'm sure it'll be just fine. I was so glad to hear that on my ward they do 12,5-hour shifts, because that was exactly what I wished for ! Longer days - more days off and opportunities to travel and see England outside this lovely little town :)
Thank you for making this possible, I'm sure this will be one of the most amazing experiences I'll have !"

Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust provides health care through two main hospital sites, The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital in nearby Telford. Together they serve half a million people in the Shropshire and mid-Wales area. In the future, the in-patient paediatric services based in each hospital will combine to become a single, modern unit which will make it one of the largest paediatric units in the country. The hospital has 5,000 staff and is one of the largest employers in the area. The Trust prioritises a healthy work-life balance for all its staff and this is realised through a number of ways such as family-friendly policies, flexible working arrangements, salary sacrifice schemes and staff gyms and restaurants located at both hospital sites.

The town itself is steeped in history.
